Title: Appleseed

Story: Set in a post world war 3 society where the remaining populations of Earth have decided to construct the perfect city called Olympus. Life in Olympus is controlled and carefully monitored by specially created bio-droids (half-human, half-robot). A band of terrorists are fed up with being controlled and set into action a plan to destroy Gaia, the central computer of Olympus, to regain man kinds freedom. It's up to two of Olympus Police Force's  officers to stop them with high-tech weapons and plenty of action!

Anime Direct Comments: Appleseed is the creation of Masamune Shirow (Ghost in the Shell, Black Magic), and it is dripping with his style! Any fan of his work will appreciate this one's intricate story and animation. It's a good action flick with plenty of excitement (and of course robots!) but as with most of Masamune's work it also gives you something to think about on a deeper level. A great Ride all the Way!    Rating:   3.5 out of 5.
